If you say the saddle bearing is still good you took out of the other mill i guess you could try some JB Weld to hold it in place just a skim coat. Your pitmans you can use bushings as some do on the forum. Snout bearing should be repoured. Good luck with everything.

Went to visit Tim today to look over what he had for parts to complete his mill. Had a good time and while there he took me to check this really cool Aermoter with a wood water tank. Pretty Cool !!

Wow !! What a great find, those are some not to common mills. Same with the tipping tower. What model open gear Aermoter is it ?

The step plate is what the leg of the gear box rests on so it can rotate. Most other companies have storm stays or truing spiders that the leg of the mill goes through. I guess Challenge chose to call it that because it is a different setup than other mills.

On Dandy mills the step plate was the turntable the tower cap was called a chair something the mill sat in.!!
