Yes it came as a shock to me. They had not contracted it when it was every where. My wife and I did not get it. I guess it will never leave
entirely. We get our booster shots every 6 months. Stay close to home.

Re: Happy Birthday
Thank you for the kind greetings. We were supposed to have a party here at home featuring Costco ribeye steaks and a beautiful 85th birthday cake. I had saved some 10 year old wine and was looking forward to sampling that. About 4 hours ago I received a call from my children in Edmonton saying they ...

Re: twisted wire tower braces
I thought you might have to keep tension on the wires while turning. Have not tried yet.

Re: twisted wire tower braces
My plans are to go. Hotel booked. No guarantees some thing won't come up that will prevent me.
Going to drive by myself. About 1100 miles. Have 1 stop in Saskatchewan on the way down.

Re: twisted wire tower braces
Dan are saying you could bring them to the fair? I only have to makeup short lengths. Was going to wind them into the twists of the long end and then just secure with touch of a welding rod to keep them from unravelling. I think if you don't keep the wires taught when winding then they won't twist e...

twisted wire tower braces
I need to make a few twisted wire braces for my Dempster tower. Not whole lengths , just two foot sections that I can tie into the existing damaged ones. The big end loops are damaged and unusable. Has any one made a simple jig to produce what I need? I have one idea involving two heavy springs to k...

Re: new in Canada
Looks like that is what happened to the Beatty I bought. Just threads left in the hub except for 2. The spoke I have has only about 1/2 inch of thread left. I noticed a small hole drilled at the top of the curve to allow water to drain but I can see water getting in as well. That would defeat the en...

Re: New member Port Hope, Ontario
Today I took the arm off the two sail sections it was tying together. There is only about 1/2 inch of threads left.
Me thinks that may not be enough. Not good.

I have one original so that will be a big help if and when I have to make them.
