Re: New windmill well cylinder selection
My info tells me there is only one guy that is in east Texas that makes wood sucker rods. I think that Al Thomerson is ordering sucker rods from him. I do know that the fellow in North Texas sold out to Loren Lockman ,but he is not making sucker rods.

Re: Fairbanks Morse Model 45 pitman arm pins
I think the off set that you are seeing is the amount of wear that is on one side of the pin. Look at the end of the pin and that is how much it has worn.I have seen my share of pins and and made a few and have not seen one that is offset. Make sure the press in part is made the right diameter so it...

Re: Fairbanks Morse Model 45- rebuild
With the lathe one can make their own springs. All that is needed is a rod to turn the wire around. I have made several springs from short to long. One would have to play with rod size and wire type to consider spring back on the type of wire used and the mandrel it is turned on.

Re: Tower cap id
Dempster and Challenge are very similar, but will not interchange. One has a lock ring that holds it together( Dempster????)the other has nothing to hold the two halves together. I don't remember what the bolt hole pattern is on either one. I remember having to wire the bearing to the top of the mast...

Re: Tower cap id
Looking at the picture I see straight sides like the tower legs did not attach at a angle. So. I am surmising that it not go on a wind mill tower. Don't ask me witch one, but I remember a wind mill that had about a three foot stub that was square. I am getting old so the recollection is not good.Wen...

Re: Aermotor L702
Windybob, The last I heard Al's son was doing the windmills and Al was importing a mill that had bearings, plus some other fingers in the pie. UPDATE ON TOPPER CO. Al gave up on the other stuff and when I talked to him this morning he was overhauling Aermotor motors. Aermotor company is selling the...
