Re: Kevin's b602 project

Kevin, Windcatcher530 Dan posted a chart in the D702 thread of the Aermotor spreads. It matched my Aermotor B 33’ spread at right at 82.75”. I see more welded towers in the Texas panhandle and Permian Basin areas and it could be because of all the left over oil field pipe. They are hell for heavy an...

Re: Workstands

I’m always looking for some improvement to my work stands/stubs. Mine are trip hazards, but still a necessity that can be improved. I like seeing others. I once accidentally bumped a gearbox with the zero turn mower canopy while it was on a stub without any footing support for that stub. That Baker ...

Re: Aermotor D702 - 33’

Looking good. I hauled a widespread 33’ Aermotor “D” tower from Steve A’s place to my place and it was 11.5’ tall at the base while sitting flat on my trailer. The stub wasn’t on that tower, so it was really 27’ or so at that time. Knocked a few branches down hauling it home. Kevin - I have a 33’ Ae...

Re: Kevin's b602 project

I don’t see a reason why that wouldn’t work. I do that often by welding in rod stock in worn out pump rod areas or a bolt for new threading, but haven’t needed to on a spoke thread (yet). Others can provide their opinions.

Re: Kevin's b602 project

B602/B702 vane as they are interchangeable.

The tailbone (i.e., the metal piece holding the vane to the gearbox) are different between the 602 and 702, but the vanes from either the B702 or B602 will bolt to either tailbone…the older 602 or the newer 702. Hope that makes sense.
