Aermotor snouts are supposed to leak. However the scraper inside the hub supposed to collect it ( oil collector) and put it back into the snout. So, oil in the hub is normal.

How do you get them thumbtacks in the tv screen to hold the tracing paper?

I installed one i welded up just like that today. If it fails, it's an easy switch.
