Ice and snow in Lubbock with more at my house (Ropesville) last night and tonight with THUNDER. High temps has been in the 20's. There is more forecast.

The last I heard Al's son was doing the windmills and Al was importing a mill that had bearings, plus some other fingers in the pie.

It's not just TOILET PAPER any more.I found out this last jars of Made in Texas Bread and Butter pickles was short about a 1 1/2 inch of cucumbers in the bottom of the jar.

Looks like NI99 rod is available pretty cheap on Amazon. And I have the option of buying as little as 5 rods. Which is great for me since this is the first, and maybe the last, cast I've had the chance to weld. No point buying 5 pounds of the stuff to let it sit and get ruined. It would be differen...

Thanks windybob, Try it . It saves a lot of sweat. I have heated, cooled. put the shaft under pressure , walked off for as high as 30 minutes and then heard a loud pop like a 12 gauge went off and went back to the press to see that the shaft had moved in the hub.

Sears also made a house kit to go beside your windmill.I understand each board was numbered and had Sears and Roebuck on it.

Not that I am that smart, but I have always had the best luck heating the shaft and the hub from in the middle of the drilled hole. I then cool the shaft by putting water in the drilled hole. (Shrinks the shaft but not the hub)While putting in the water put the shaft under pressure with the press. ...
