Re: What model and make?
Here too. I've seen wheels that had welded ends on them to adapt to other mills. Luckily, H/A mills spin CW like Aermotors.

Re: Windmill automatic float system shut off
A farmer customer made his own from a aired up tire, long 2x4, and a hinge on the tankside. When the tire went up, the 2x4 pivoted on the tank, and the end went down to pull the lever. Had them on most of his mills. I sure felt sorry for those brakes.

Re: Woodmanse steel back gear.
Not positive. Strictly Woodmanse did have CCW wheels. Not sure about it after they bought out Stover.

OKay, just remember these things can kill. I read of a guy one time where he fell off, and wound up with a fence post through him.

Re: Pulling the fan from motor
Guessing around 75 pounds. Don't know Canadian measurements. But it's bulky, difficult to handle. I would not do it without another helping.
You are making me nervous.

Re: Pulling the fan from motor
On Monitor Hambone, or WB mills, the wheel is a 4 section wheel, for a 6.5 foot mill. 4 bolts on the front of the hub, 4 bolts on the rear of the hub. With 2 people, take out all 8 while someone steadies the wheel. Then you can move/bend an arm to get them out of the way for removal. It's easier to ...

Re: Pulling the fan from motor
On Monitor mills it is. You can either take it off assembled, or dissasemble it and remove it. One time i learned the hard way that when you take a section out of a wheel, it spins to enable the heavier part to be at the bottom. Had a scar running down from above my eye, to about halfway down my che...
