Re: Trade Fair

I had no trouble booking in Pipestone today. Booked a room at the OYO as you can cancel right up to the day before. You pay when you check in.
This suits me fine as in my situation things can change at any time.
Will be composing a list of parts that I need later on.

Re: 2024 Trade fair

When can we expect the trade fair sign up packages to be sent out? I have been thinking about attending. Last was 2019
Plan to drive by myself, about 1100 miles. Sounds crazy but I have my own reasons for doing this.

Beatty Hub

I took advantage of the near spring like weather. It was +14C today. Decided to work on my Beatty hub that had 4 spoke holes with just the pipe threads left at the bottom. By drilling through with a 15/16" bit was able get close enough to the old threads without ruining them. I used a sharp squ...

Re: new in Canada

Yes Peter it is an 8 footer. The tower is missing one leg and the other can not be used. The fact that everything was piled up on the pallet was covering the missing pieces. I have a Dempster 12 tower that I can use. Just cut the top portion off and bolt the little stub Beatty in place. I am going t...

Re: Cold spell

Temp here was -43C better than 45 below zero F plus wind chill. Alberta had to import power from neighboring Saskatchewan.
We had warnings on TV no to use heavy drawing appliances, block heaters Etc in the evening hours.
I remember these extreme cold temps when growing up in the 1940 and 50s.

Re: new in Canada

Thanks Peter. There is nothing left of the four wheel spokes in the holes. Just about maybe 1/4 to 3/8 inch of the threaded portion. I was thinking of drilling through with a slightly smaller drill bit and rethreading with the right size pipe tap. The mill was tied to a 7 foot pallet with rebar wire...

Re: new in Canada

I recently acquired a Beatty Pumper at an on line auction. The above information will come in handy down the road when i will try and get my mill up and running. My mill had only one wheel arm that was attached to two wheel sections. That will be my pattern when making the other 5. The hub has only ...

Re: Windmill Tower Punch

I know about using the red one. I was asking about the hydraulic blue that is the topic of this thread.
