You have to taste it to know. Hard to describe. If you like pecans that's a start. They are full of pecans, and of course the fruit. The cake is there to hold it all together.

I never knew what a cistern was until I moved to Corsicana. Not many windmills but every house had a cistern or they had no water. They look like a hand dug well until you get up close.

My daughter sent me this photo from eastern Or. Probably from around Le Grande. It looks like a Samson Air flow to me. From the looks of the tower I bet it had a big old wooden mill on it at one time.

Taking the bolts apart. I had the same experience with a Freeman I took apart. I was amazed how easy all the nuts came off. Are you going to replace the arms that are split? That might be a chore getting them out of the hub.
