I took advantage of the near spring like weather. It was +14C today. Decided to work on my Beatty hub that had 4 spoke holes
with just the pipe threads left at the bottom. By drilling through with a 15/16" bit was able get close enough to the old threads
without ruining them. I used a sharp squared punch to remove the last of the pipe. Chased the threads and every thing is ready
for when I make the 5 spokes that were missing. This is the mill I bought thru an online auction last fall. Kind of sight unseen.
I notice a double 44 stamped on the end of the shaft. Is the the year the mill was manufactured?

Hi Joe, that's good that you got the hub cleaned out. Never seen a date stamped on the end of the shaft but there is a number stamped on the hub where the part number is. It's not the date but the numer of mills made I think.
