Advertisements on this forum?

Generally speaking, this area is for general discussion about windmills, in most cases.

Advertisements on this forum?

Post by PaulV »

Fellow Windmillers-
This forum is capable of supporting banner advertisements. Does the community have any interest in seeing advertisements from fellow members or relevant businesses from time to time on this forum?

The forum is hosted on server space I already have and use for other interests, so the forum costs me very little to operate. The narrow focus and small footprint of this forum prevent any real income potential. I do not need or solicit monetary support to ensure continued availability of the forum. Windmills are a hobby for me, so I do this because I enjoy it.

I do feel that it is nice to visit a site and not be bombarded with commercialism. However, if the community feels that ads relevant to our windmill interests would be beneficial, I will entertain permitting banner ads on this site.

I'm interested in your thoughts, either thru reply here, or by PM.

Paul,

I don't mind seeing banner ads. I would appreciate knowing who is selling parts and/or mills that I need to buy from time to time anyways. I think it would help all of us, but just my thoughts. Thanks.

I agree. To know who has parts or a service that could be needed might be a short cut if you need something.

I concur with Paul and Wayne for the same reasons.

I wouldn't have a problem with. Could be helpful to gain access to others services.

Maybe have an icon to click on to open it up rather than it be there full time.

Thanks. I plan to use the banner ad function to just bring awareness to events and gatherings. Products and/or services can be posted to the Classified area of the forum. This keeps the forum true to my vision.

Thanks to everyone that chimed in on this topic.
