Iraq is still using 1,000 Yr old vertical windmills to grind there grains.I watched a video and was very impressed. Why can't we build anything today to last.

Wayne , JIm , Windy , why is it fresh bread makes the best toast when we dry it out and brown the edges ?

Probably for the same reason a fresh pot of red beans straight out of the garden taste better than those in a can. Because they are fresh. Grins!

Need to find that kind of wood for wooden wheeled mills. Maybe it would last more than 10 years these days.
