The guy threw in these sections of wheel also when I bought the Fairbanks Morse but didn't pay much attention till today and finally remembered what they belong too. A Gem not bad shape.

Nice work and looking good.

The Baker X I have is the same way….3 bushings with only 1 on the bull gear shaft…2 on the pinion/hub shaft.

Those sections are cool Dan. Bet there aren't too many of those left around the country.

Made some more progress on the Fairbanks Morse. This was supposed to be a all winter project i better slow down.

My next step is making a Half Babbitt Bearing. Amazing the other three half bearings are good. My thoughts are making the mold out of wood and lining the belly with thin sheet metal. Am open to suggestions.

Well my brother and me decided to pour the bearing i needed so I can get the hub and shaft in place. Didn't come out to bad just a little cleaning up should do it !

thank you for the idea of a wood mold , i have always scrounged for some sort of metal to cast in , but now I see wood is even better as it can be drilled to any diameter needed ! wow , thanks for the tip
