Anyone ever seen one of these jugs?

This was give to me by a family friend, I don't know if I ever saw windmill oil in glass jugs?

I have another Norse tin can of coal oil that my grandparents would put on chickens, that is the only other time I have seen the name. I wonder if it was made during the war as oil in glass jugs don't seem like a good idea unless they were trying to conserve metal?

Some times we dont understand the thought process behind "why" . 50 , 75 , 100 years ago . good example are the multipul variations in early windmills ....
